Free tool for this guide JPG to PDF → Turn photos and images into one PDF.Sometimes you need to send one document, but all you have is a handful of photos on your phone. Maybe it is a signed form, a set of receipts, or notes you took with the camera. A single PDF is easier to email, upload and print than ten separate pictures.
This guide shows you how to turn phone photos into one tidy PDF without installing an app and without sending your photos to anyone.
What you need
- A phone or computer with a modern browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Edge)
- The photos you want to combine, already saved in your gallery
- About two minutes
Step 1: Take clear photos first
A good PDF starts with a good photo. A few habits make a big difference:
- Put the paper on a flat, plain surface, like a table.
- Use daylight or a bright room. Avoid your own shadow falling on the page.
- Hold the phone straight above the page, not at an angle.
- Fill the frame with the page, but keep the edges visible.
- Wait for the camera to focus before you tap.
If your camera app has a “document” or “scan” mode, use it. It straightens the page for you.
Step 2: Open the JPG to PDF tool
Open our JPG to PDF tool in your browser. Tap the big box that says “Choose photos or images”. Your phone will offer to open the gallery, the file manager or the camera. Pick the photos you want. You can select many at once.
Your photos are not uploaded. The tool reads them inside your browser and builds the PDF on your own device.
Step 3: Put the pages in order
After you choose the photos, you will see a list with small previews. The PDF follows this list from top to bottom.
- On a phone, use the up and down arrows next to each photo.
- On a computer, you can also drag a photo to a new place.
- Remove a photo you picked by mistake with the bin button.
Check the order now. It is much easier than fixing it later.
Step 4: Choose the page options
The tool has four simple options.
Page size. A4 is the common size in most countries. Letter is common in the United States and Canada. “Fit to image” makes each page exactly the size of its photo, which is handy for receipts and screenshots.
Page direction. Leave this on “Automatic” and wide photos get wide pages, tall photos get tall pages. Choose portrait or landscape if you want every page the same.
Margin. A small margin looks neat when printed. Choose “None” if you want the photo to reach the edge of the page.
PDF size. “Original quality” keeps your photos exactly as they are, so the PDF can be large. “Balanced” and “Smallest” shrink the photos a little, which is useful when you must send the file by email or upload it to a form.
Step 5: Create and save the PDF
Tap Create PDF. A progress bar shows the work. When it finishes, tap Download. On Android the file usually appears in your Downloads folder. On an iPhone, it is saved in the Files app under Downloads.
Open the PDF once and scroll through it to check that every page is the right way up and easy to read.
Why do my photos sometimes appear sideways?
Phones store a small note inside each photo that says how the phone was held. Some programs ignore that note, which is why a photo can look fine in your gallery but sideways in other places.
Our tool reads the note and turns each photo the right way before it goes into the PDF. If a page still looks wrong, the original photo may have been saved sideways. You can fix that page in the Rotate PDF tool.
Tips for a smaller PDF
Photos from modern phones are big. Ten photos can easily make a PDF of 20 MB or more. To keep the file small:
- Choose “Balanced” or “Smallest” under PDF size.
- Use JPG photos instead of PNG screenshots when you can.
- If the file is still too big, run it through Compress PDF. Choose the Medium level to keep any text sharp.
- Photograph in a normal resolution. You rarely need the highest camera setting for a page of text.
What about HEIC photos?
Some iPhones save photos in a format called HEIC. When you pick photos through the browser, most iPhones hand over a normal JPG automatically. If you try to add a raw HEIC file from a computer and your browser cannot open it, the tool will tell you clearly. In that case, share the photo as a JPG, or set the camera format to “Most Compatible” in your iPhone settings.
Need to add more pages later?
If you already have a PDF and want to add the new one to it, use Merge PDF. It joins PDF files in the order you choose.
A quick checklist
- Photos are clear and readable
- Pages are in the right order
- Every page is the right way up
- The file is small enough for where you are sending it
- You kept a copy of the original photos
That is all it takes. A few photos, a few taps, and one PDF that is easy to share.
