Compress images
Make photos smaller for forms, email and chat. Set a quality or ask for a target size.
Files never leave your device
Lower quality makes a smaller file. With a target size, quality is lowered only as far as needed, and the picture is made smaller if that is not enough.
PNG is lossless, so it barely shrinks. To make a PNG much smaller, save it as JPG or WebP.

This tool runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to a server, so your documents and photos stay private. It is free, has no watermark and needs no sign-up.
Frequently asked questions
How do I get an image under a certain size?
Choose a target size such as 100 KB. The tool lowers the quality step by step and, if needed, the dimensions until the image fits.
Does compression reduce quality?
JPG and WebP lose a little detail when compressed. Moderate settings are hard to notice on a phone screen.
Why does a PNG not get much smaller?
PNG is lossless. To make it much smaller, convert it to JPG or WebP using the output format option.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Compression happens in your browser.
Can I compress many images at once?
Yes. Add several images and download them one by one or as a ZIP.
