Install PaperPDF on your phone

PaperPDF is a website that can sit on your home screen like an app. There is nothing to download from an app store, it takes a few seconds, and you can remove it any time. It is the same site: installing does not give it any extra access to your phone or your files.

Why add it to your home screen

  • One tap from your home screen to merge, compress or convert a file.
  • It opens full screen, without the browser's address bar.
  • After your first visit the tools also work without internet.
  • Your files are still handled on your device and never uploaded.

On Android (Chrome)

  1. Open PaperPDF in Chrome.
  2. If you see an Install PaperPDF app bar at the bottom of the page, tap Install. That is all.
  3. No bar? Tap the ⋮ menu at the top right of Chrome, then Install app (or Add to Home screen), then Install.
  4. Find the PaperPDF icon on your home screen or in your app list.

On iPhone (Safari)

iPhones do not show an install button, but Safari can add the site to your home screen:

  1. Open PaperPDF in Safari (other browsers on iPhone may word the menu differently).
  2. Tap the Share button (a square with an arrow pointing up) at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
  4. Tap Add. The icon appears on your home screen.

On a computer

In Chrome or Edge you may see an install icon at the right end of the address bar. It is optional, and the website works the same without it.

Removing it

Touch and hold the icon, then choose Uninstall (Android) or Remove App (iPhone). Your files were never stored by PaperPDF, so there is nothing else to clean up.
