WhatsApp voice notes are saved as OPUS, which many players cannot open. Change them to MP3 so they play anywhere.

How to use it
- Step 1: Tap the box and choose your OPUS voice notes. You can pick several at once.
- Step 2: Leave the quality on 64 or 96 kbps for speech, or raise it for music. Mono makes the file smaller.
- Step 3: Tap Convert to MP3, then download the files, or one ZIP when there are several.

Frequently asked questions
How do I get a WhatsApp voice note out of WhatsApp?
WhatsApp says voice messages can only be saved inside the app, and suggests sending the audio to yourself by email. In a chat you can also use Export chat and choose to attach the media, which emails all of its voice notes. The files you get are .opus files. Save them on your phone, then choose them here.
What is an OPUS file?
OPUS is a sound format that keeps speech clear at a very small size, so chat apps use it. The trouble is that many media players, car stereos and older phones cannot play it. MP3 plays almost everywhere.
Will the voice note sound worse as an MP3?
A little, because the sound is saved again in a new format. For speech, 96 kbps sounds clear, and 64 kbps is fine for a quick listen. Raise the quality if the note has music in it.
Can I convert many voice notes at once?
Yes. Pick as many as your phone can handle. They are converted one after another, and you get a ZIP with all the MP3 files.
Does this work on iPhone and Android?
Yes, in a recent Safari, Chrome, Edge or Samsung Internet. If your browser cannot read a file, the page says so instead of failing quietly.
Are my voice notes uploaded?
No. They are converted inside your browser, on your device. Private conversations never go to our servers or anyone else.
