How to use it
- Step 1: Tap the box and choose your M4A files, for example recordings from the Voice Memos app.
- Step 2: Choose the quality. 128 kbps is a fair size for speech, and 192 kbps or more suits music.
- Step 3: Tap Convert to MP3 and download your files. Several files come as one ZIP.

Frequently asked questions
Why would I turn an M4A into an MP3?
M4A is the format an iPhone uses for voice recordings and music from the store. Some car stereos, older players, school portals and editing programs only take MP3, so converting makes the file work in more places.
Will the MP3 be worse than my M4A?
M4A and MP3 both throw away some detail to save space, so converting from one to the other adds a small further loss. Choose 192 or 256 kbps to keep as much as you can. Your original M4A is not changed.
Can I convert the sound of a video?
Yes. MP4 and 3GP files are also accepted here, and only their sound is used. For video files with extra choices, Video to MP3 has a start and end box.
Are protected songs supported?
No. Songs that are locked by a store or a streaming service cannot be read by your browser, and the page shows a message. Recordings you made yourself work fine.
Which phones can use this page?
A recent browser on iPhone or Android. The first step happens in your browser, so nothing needs installing.
Is my recording sent anywhere?
No. The conversion happens inside your browser on your own device, so your recordings stay private.
