Edit a PDF
Add text, ticks, shapes, highlights, drawings and pictures to any PDF page, then save. The original page content is kept as it is.
Files never leave your device
White-out only covers. The White-out box paints white over the page, but the words underneath are still in the file, so anyone can copy them. Do not use it to hide private information. Use Redact PDF for that. For a form with fillable boxes, use Fill PDF Form, and to add a signature use Sign PDF.
Choose a tool above. To add text, a tick, a cross or the date, tap the page where it should go. For shapes, the pen and highlights, drag on the page. Tap an item to move it, resize it with its corner dots (or pinch with two fingers) or change it below.

How to use it
- Step 1: Tap the box and choose your PDF. The pages appear with a toolbar above them.
- Step 2: Pick a tool, then tap or drag on a page. Tap an item to move it, resize it with its corner dots or by pinching, or change its colour and size.
- Step 3: Tap Save edited PDF and download the new file.

Frequently asked questions
What can I add to a page?
Text, a white-out box, a highlight, a line, an arrow, a box, an oval, a freehand pen drawing, a picture (JPG, PNG, WebP or HEIC), a tick, a cross and today’s date. You can move, resize and delete each one, and undo or redo your steps.
Is the white-out box safe for hiding private information?
No. The white-out box only paints white over the page. The words underneath are still inside the file, and anyone can select or copy them. To remove private details for good, use the Redact PDF tool.
Can I change the existing text of the PDF?
Not directly. This tool adds things on top of the page and keeps the original page content as it is. To change a word, cover it with a white-out box and type the new word on top, or ask the person who made the file for an editable copy.
Does it work for forms and signatures?
For a form with fillable boxes, Fill PDF Form is quicker. To add a signature, use Sign PDF. All three tools work in your browser, and you can use them one after another on the same file.
Will my text stay selectable?
English and Western European text you add is written into the PDF as real text. Hindi, Malayalam and Arabic are drawn by your browser and added as a picture, so they look right but cannot be selected. Highlights and drawings are drawn as shapes.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser on your own device. The PDF, your changes and the saved file never go to our servers or anyone else.
