This tool runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to a server, so your documents and photos stay private. It is free, has no watermark and needs no sign-up.

Frequently asked questions

Can this unlock a PDF if I forgot the password?

No. It only works when you type the correct password. It does not guess, crack or bypass passwords, and there is no feature that tries to. If the password is lost, ask the person who made the file.

Why would I remove a password?

For files that are yours, such as a statement or a form you use all the time, a copy without a password is easier to open, merge or sign. Keep the protected original if the file is sensitive.

What happens to the original file?

Nothing. It stays exactly as it is. You get a new copy without the password.

What if the PDF has restrictions but no password?

Some PDFs open freely but forbid printing or copying. This tool does not remove those restrictions. It only removes a password that you type in.

Is my file or my password uploaded?

No. Both stay in your browser on your device, and the password is cleared from the page when the job is done.
