Fill in a PDF form

Type your answers into a PDF form, tick the boxes, or write straight onto a printed or scanned form, then save the finished PDF.

Files never leave your device

How to use it

  1. Step 1: Tap the box and choose the PDF form. Fillable boxes are found for you.
  2. Step 2: Type your answers in the blue boxes or in the list. For a form with no boxes, choose Add text, a tick, a cross or today’s date, then tap the page where it goes.
  3. Step 3: Tap Save filled PDF. Turn on Flatten first if you want the answers locked in.

Your files never leave your device

This tool runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to a server, so your documents and photos stay private. It is free, has no watermark and needs no sign-up.

Frequently asked questions

Which kinds of boxes can I fill?

Text boxes (one line or several lines), checkboxes, radio buttons that let you pick one choice, and dropdown or list boxes where you pick an option. Buttons and signature boxes are left alone. To sign, use the Sign PDF tool.

What if my form has no fillable boxes?

Many forms are only a picture or a printout. For those, use Type anywhere on the page: choose Add text, a tick, a cross or today’s date, tap the page where it should go, then drag it into place and resize it with the round handle or by pinching.

What does Flatten do?

Flatten makes your answers part of the page, like ink on paper, so they cannot be changed in the saved PDF. Leave it off if you may need to change the answers later, because then the boxes stay fillable.

Can I type in Hindi, Malayalam or Arabic?

Yes. Those letters cannot be written by the fonts inside most PDF forms, so your browser draws them and the result is placed in the box as a picture. They look right but cannot be selected as text afterwards. Other alphabets are planned.

Why does a box say it is locked?

The person who made the PDF can lock a box so that it cannot be changed. This tool respects that and leaves those boxes alone.

Is my form uploaded anywhere?

No. The form, your answers and the saved PDF all stay in your browser on your own device.
